This is a lithography print, all of the images are hand printed on Stonehenge, cotton based paper. The bows are all hand painted in with gouache.
Homage to Hayao Miyazaki’s “Kiki’s Delivery Service” . I rewatched the movie while sketching this up and found myself incredibly moved by a story that I had watched over a dozen times throughout my childhood. The beauty of Miyazaki’s work is that it can be relevant to a person of any age, and as time passes, so does the meaning of the story being told.
This was painted on a poly-litho plate with a mixture that was made up of floor wax, india ink, and rubbing alcohol. There is eight in the edition, and on each print I hand painted the red of her bow in with gouache.
