i have a few platypus characters, but i've been meaning to design a character who's the closest relative to the platypus - the echidna. admittedly i've never actually drawn an echidna before

anyway... a new character design. her name is dr. avery tachyglossus, and she's a short-beaked echidna. she's a zoologist, and primarily works at the labs of indiana and ohio network - but she's also had a few jobs working as a tour guide at zoos and natural history museums (as i believe i've established before, there are both anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic animals in cotbs, which is roughly similar to how there are humans and non-human primates in the real world). the primary sub-fields she studies are mammalogy and ornithology.

in general, avery tends to work behind the scenes and frequently takes days off for health-related reasons; i'm thinking she'll probably be involved in rehabilitating the test subjects of k-9 labs... when we get to that point...

as a fun fact, her sweater vest was originally supposed to have an argyle pattern, but i couldn't quite figure out how to draw it.

i'm thinking her first appearance in the series may be sometime in episode 5. man i've gotta get back to actually writing cotbs
