You're right of course- you have to have certain characteristics to make it into the Turks. To survive to get in, at least. Surviving to stay in is a learning curve.
I'm really liking these photos as well. You've got a great expression and you look amost like a cat about to pounce.
Great work. And please excuse the fangirling- I've been a rather big ShinRa/Turks fan for a rather long time, it's nice to see it done well.

Well that's good. Cuz I was tired of seeing turks done "un" well. I went to about 3 cons by the time I decided to do Reno. Wherever I looked, online or at a convention, all the renos except one sucked @$$. I wanted to give the character some justice.

*nods* And it's worse when you have done the costume, because then you know how much work you put into yours- and you go to a con and still see the same lack of effort on everyone else's part.
You make a great Reno, and if I ever hit a con you'll be attending I am snagging you for photos. I'm sad I missed you at AX this year.

Oh, believe me, I know exactly how that is. At saboten, I didn't cosplay the first day, but there were at lest 5 renos there, and only one of them put visible effort.

Another nice one. I have wondered why the Turks are so few and what did each one have to get in. I dunno about Reno, he and Rude seem to be total opposites. Maybe they are each good at what they do and that is the reason they are paired, they make a great team. Plus, Rude's seriousness offsets Reno's humor.

Well, there were 15+ of them in Before Crisis, but by Advent Children, they dwindled down to 4. There could have been more employed by ShinRa during FF7, but they didn't introduce them.
They've been partners since Before Crisis. >.> Rude was paired with Reno shortly after recruitment. I don't know much more than that, but if I ever get to play it.... *dreams on*

Tseng and Reno were elite if anything. They were 1st and 2nd in command. Rude was also quite experienced by that time. But in Elena's case, She's just a rookie brought in as a short term replacement for Reno (cuz he got hospitalized because of Cloud n' gang).
