Jackson Brigs, more commonly known as Jack, was a man who grew up as a child soldier and in his adult years made a living as a mercenary. One day, he and a group of other mercs were hired to guard an archaeological team that had unearthed a mysterious artifact. However, there was an accident and the artifact ended up latching itself to the back of Jack's neck, revealing the artifact to be a technomagical symbiotic exoskeleton that had permanently bonded to his body. His life was never the same again.
In addition to the armor's adaptive and augmentative capabilities, it also enhanced his instincts, was powered by the blood of others and started gradually merging with Jack, each and every injury accelerating the process to varying degrees depending on the injury. This was due to the fact that every time he was damaged, the armor seeped into the damaged areas and repaired them near-instantaneously, either by healing the damaged tissue or generating technomagic prostheses in place of missing body parts. Every time this happened, the bond between the armor and host deepened, until eventually, the distinction between the two became nonexistent, resulting in Jack becoming an ever-evolving and vampiric technomagical lifeform.
