crazy cat. the only way mine will "pose" for me is if they're sleeping... nothing like that. i have a portrait of one of mine in my gallery, but it is nothing compared to this... a) its black and white b) the lighting on this is way cooler... i love back/side lighting the best, makes this shot so much more... umb... separated from the common cat. and c) my cat doesn't have that mysterious 'incarnate' aura about him... (which is super cool). nope, he's jus cute.
i'm gonna fave this! and scritch the kit between the ears. mau.

Wow, incredible colours and expression on that cat's face! I love cats, and pictures of cats, but I get so tired of " overly fluffy kittens sitting in a basket" or "kitten wearing sunglasses and hanging out in a hammock" or other pictures that don't show any real personality... This picture is so cat-like. I love it!

The light, the depth, the very emotion of this piece....blows my mind. The extreme light to the side and the darkness beside it gives a mysterious, regal, I'm-better-than-you look to it. The one eye, a window to the soul, if you will, inflicts a great air of humanity, as if the cat is granting you permission to capture her essence forever. So calm, resigned - one muster wonder what the cat is thinking about.

I love her!! How did you get her to sit so still though? Even my laziest cat, fluff, seems to instinctively know i'm watching her, camera poised- even when i'm out of the room!! Kittens, now i'd be impressed if you got a kitten to sit in that pose. Amazing pic, i'm now your cat's fan

Ooooh, kitty doesn't look like a demon. I'm still trying to figure out how to get a picture of my cat without either giant, red, glowing pupils or washed-out details because I have her in such bright light. That's worth congratulations in itself! I like how you used the cat's natural features to divide the photo along the third lines. They have such wide, symetrical faces that they really don't lend themselves to it naturally.
Of course, having a good subject to capture helps a lot. She's so cute!
