hinata has a major advantage over sakura.and i really really don't think hinata would runaway from an easy kill like sakura...

1)knows the hyuga style taijutsu somewhat so dodging average melee attacks are child s play...it's also close range and deadly(sakura only knows how to attack using kunai and her brute strength not to forget those retarded looking clones )so she would lose
2)BYAKUGAN (with the ability to seal chakra points) which would actually work on sakura because she did'nt know about the hyuga style at that time pulse she fights close range with some lame ass fighting techniques which couldnt hurt shit!
by the way bro i think naruto would be confused on who to root for cause naruto fought kiba, b4 sakura would fight hinata(ino)w/e. and hinata was kind enough to give him medicine for his wounds.

Okay lets talk cannon hear for just a little bit.
One, Sakura was physically the weakest girl to graduate, she tied with Ino, the top female graduate. *Hinata spent lots of time training by punch that wood post with cloth on it, I know. I have no clue if that was in the manga or not, but we have no clue what type of training kakashi did with team seven other than the tree thing, So I can't say that sakura knows much of tiajutsu*
Two, uh lets see here. Hinata's Byakugan was Highly under developed, During the fight, with Neji *or how ever the fuck you spell his name* She was shocked when he rolled up her sleeve showing the brown dots that where the chakra points he hit. Showing that She could not see the chakra points.
And lets see here, while Naruto did indeed recieve the salve from Hinata, Sakura was his is teammate and crush at the time, So he probably wouldn't Bash hinata but he would most likely say "GO! SAKURA-CHAN!" or something along those lines... which would be met with a responce from kiba, who... oh wait he got knocked the fuck out by Naruto...
Alright then so lets see here.
Sakura: greatest growth among the three girls *ATPIT* An elite jonin renowned for his skills as a teacher, moral suport from teammate, and knowledge of opponents fighting style. Low chakra, no bloodline.
Hinata: Want to prove herself to Naruto. Extremly powerful bloodline. A genjutsu master recently appointed to jonin rank for a teacher. No self confedence. Younger sister has more skill with bloodline than her. Will be discouraged if Naruto cheers for opponent.
Winner by stats *Ignoring the Protagonist powers* Is Sakura.

Ok, One, the idea was that she was focusing on attacking Neji's Tenketsu's, so she wasn't paying attention to her own. A mistake that would have been Irrelevant against Sakura. And her sister is stronger for her age, not stronger period.
Two, the idea is that Neji is to the Hyuuga clan what Itachi was to the Uchiha clan. He's stronger then Sasuke and Naruto BOTH as of when he fought Hinata if we take the Cursed seal out of the equation. And that was Basically Kakashi's assessment at the time. And I'd like to mention that Sakura Tied Ino, but it was determined that NEITHER was strong enough to advance to the final round.
Also, at the time, Sakura and Hinata knew EXACTLY the same amount of Nin-jutsu. Sakura may have know a touch more about Gen-jutsu, but not enough to wield it against Hinata as a weapon. So the deciding factor would HAVE to be Tai Jutsu.
And Hinata, due to having her blood line and knowing the basics of the Hyuuga style, as well as what was taught in the academy, would have a near insurmountable advantage over Sakura in that area due to Sakura's sever physical weakness and lack of training and experience and talent in that department.
The only thing that could have messed her up would have been Naruto's Incessant cheering for Sakura and his utter obliviousness to HER feelings. And that is, by no means, a given.

Hinata, was just fighting she was trying to block neji's assault just as much as she was trying to hit him. He was clearly just playing with hinata however.
As for ino and sakura not being advanced. "The winners will be... blah blah blah" A tie is not a win nor a lose.

alright for one The closest thing to genjutsu sakura uses is those clones. For two we don't know what they know we can only asume. For three, The deciding factor would have been who could be more prepared "expect the unexpected" we know kakashi taught her that much.
Blood lines count for shit if you don't know how to use them properly, Something hinata has no clue to use *Note gross exaggeration*. Hinata. Cannot see chakra points, she can't see the chakra pathways. *an assumption* with a style that involves precision, she would fail.

"Train more" doesn't mean she didn't train, if she didn't she wouldn't have been able to tie with Ino.... and we have no clue about team 7 training.

3)sakura being the bitch that she is would say something like "you can forfeit if you want cause i wont be holding back"
4)Hinata would pause for a moment look up at everyone watching her especially (kurenai shino and naruto),kurenai would probably say, "do ur best" and she would see nauto's curios smile.
5)then she would be inspired...to do her best and show THE ONE SHE ADMIRES THE MOST that she can fight too...
6)(hoping to test her reactions) sakura would most likely attack first using kunai and shuriken which hinata would dodge...(which would be kinda jittery).
7)She would then think (this is easy game) (because everyone including her thinks hinata was some shy,timid girl, so most likely weak)and rush forward to use a melee of tai jutsu attacks
8)Hinata ON SEEING HER RUSHING TOWARDS HER activates byakugan
9)sakura see's the change in her eye's(and mostlikey kakashi told her before the match to watch out for the byakugan)so she uses that stupid clone jutsu attack and rushes in to do some damage...
10)hinata using the byakugan accurately pin-points the real sakura coming towards her....dodges the incomming attack the use the barrage of the gentle fist technique....
11)then the blows would hit sakura because (if a inexperienced ninja like ino with no supa abilities "could rattle her jaw-bone" then hinata being a hyuga and trained daily in hyuga style, though not a "master of it" would most likely hit her target
12)sakura's chakra point would be locked making her weaker then hinata could just hit a vital point of one of her internal organs ending the match,but not enough to kill sakura
13)Hinata wins naruto and everyone gets impressed...hinata being the kind hearted girl eveyone loves would prabaly go to sakura and offer her medicine..the end

Another thing though she wasn't any good she was trained by her father who's the "HEAD of The HYUGA" that's like Bruce Lee training his son...so she must have leaned a couple of moves there....fact is shes not an average fighter...a normal human like sakura can't compare with a hyuga no even the weakest one...in this case hinata
