How to you incorporate all the textures I usually see in your art into your drawings? Filters or brushes? (I like to pretend I know things.)

Yes it is, but I had to get it done sometime, yeah?
I generally use an image of something grungy (tree bark, rust, dry earth, etc.) and then lay it over the picture and use layer effects to tone it down.

I figured that. Multiply is the only layer effect I can really think of that'll give you that effect... but then again, my experience in photoshop is a bit lacking. It's evident in my artwork.
