Some Lore:
They are all born as female, any male or other gender of Harpy is trans or otherwise not a female. They are wind spirit monsters who’s soul purpose is to fight, defend, and kill. Their world is in a massive war which has been going on for hundreds of years which they fight in to protect their land and other’s land.
How they have more Harpies is by stealing eggs of other birds and using their magic winds to change them into Harpy babies. They are held in a nursery until they hatch. When hatched they are in full harpy form (very close to what this image depicts, it’s more feathers and backwards knees) and are raised by who ever picks them. As they grow they learn how to change forms and control winds.
Harpies do not have last names only first names. They live in different districts which are named after different stones. This is how mail is handled and how they are deployed. Taiga’s is the Chalcedony district thus her “last name” in tags and the stone on her outfit near the neck (circle). Plus on her sword end (diamond). Where they live has no real name, but it know as “The Harpy Lands” by countries in the world.
If they manage to get married which often happens when they get older, they show this dedication by placing their stone from their uniform onto their dog tags and give them to their partner; being a sign they will not fight in the war and will not need to be found by others.
