Ranatons are an amphibian species living deep in the depths of the sea, but who for the purposes of expanding their power have started to colonize the surface of Agartha with their settlements. Their bodies are fragile and require accurate temperature and humidity to survive. The climate of the world above water is too harsh for them, leading them to develop suits that can cover their bodies to protect them, keep their body temperature cool and their bodies moist.

Ranaton nations are wealthy and highly advanced in technological research on descent matter. They use a variety of descent matter for their buildings, their body suits and armors, their weapons, in their industry and also sold within products of their commercial sector for entertainment. The most widely available descent matter in their home region is green descent matter, which is relatively speaking the most stable and safe to use among the descent matters. Green descent matter is also known as celestial matter, as it enables the usage of celestial magic that transforms and enhances materials, such as improving and stabilizing their compositional structures, amplifying their tissue in strength or changing the consistency of matter to that of another, making things more elastic, rigid and more depending on what it is imbued into.

The culture of Ranatons is not liked much by most other species and they like to keep their nations mostly to themselves, keeping outsiders away. But they actively practice slavery of those species they manage to subjugate. This is a strategy they employ both out of tradition and out of necessity, since the terrain on land is not what Ranaton are accustomed to, the various slaves they capture and train prove to be a necessary and complementary force in combat to make up for the weaknesses of their own troops. Ranaton tend to be cold and merciless in their systematic approaches and in their push for the advancement of their technology. They not rarely use some of their captured slaves for live experimentation to advance their research faster. And they use green descent matter to morph various captured slaves to adapt their form before employment at another frontline, depending on the needs of the terrain.

The Ranaton have aggressively expanded their territories deep into the Northern Wastelands of Agartha, the home of the Kehrer, an intelligent reptilian species and have thus stocked up their ranks with plenty of Kehrer slaves whose bodies they forcefully morphed into all kinds of hybrid mutants. Rarely do the Ranaton engage in diplomacy. They prefer to incite riots within countries through espionage and psychological operations and otherwise confront their opponents in direct war.
