"Oh uh--nothing."

"...just like. Are you okay?"

It had been over a week since wildgrowth season did its number on Four: the flower growing from her eye socket had fully bloomed and, much to her dismay, flourished. The patches of festerglow around her face and upper body were fully developed and, again to Four's dismay, made her a walking rave as they glowed a very bright blue. Granted, she never wanted to help clear the invasive plants around the town and take the risk she'd be infected in the first place, but she certainly didn't think she'd contract two diseases at once.

"Er, yeah. Why?" The pale auri asked in response to her friend's interrogation; Rocket had been staring at the flower around her eye since they began lighting candles (or Four, rather--Rocket couldn't be trusted with matches). The red child shrugged, but with concern. "I dunno, you just look...not good. Like no offense, but that's a pretty dark-ass circle you've got under your eye."

"Oh come on." Four responded with a chuckle. "Have I ever not look tired? If anything it's probably just the wildgrowth--but I'm alright right now. Everything's...settled."

"Ah...okay." Rocket continued to watch Four open their box of matches with curiosity, but she wasn't quite satisfied with her answer and it was obvious as Four noticed how antsy she was. "....Something else up?" She asked the younger Auri.

"Does it hurt?" Rocket asked with immediate concern, wasting no time now that the invitation to ask was there. "What, the Wildgrowth? Haaa--relax, I can tell how worried you are. I'm fine, Rocket! I'm not gonna let this scraggly-ass weed on my face bother me. Not to mention the festerglow is only on the left side of my body and people definitely have it way worse." Four explained with apparent pride.

"Okaaaaay, fine." Rocket said in mock sass. "Goood forbid anyone should be concerned about Foooouuur!"

"You bet!" Four's whiskers twitched ever so slightly as Rocket failed to realize how she essentially dodged the question.

It did hurt.

"...Is something burning? Barnaby??"
