Gouache/Collage on canvas

This is a close up of two canvases I made by taking blurry photos of my room (jumping up and down on the bed). I then painted the colours and patterns that I had got from the photos onto small pieces of paper in the shapes of the inside if a dreamcatcher (the bits sticking up out of the canvas). I attached them to wire so they were raised above the canvas to give it a bit of relief. The background of the canvas is purple gouache (the colour of my bedrrom wall) and the pattern is the shape of a dreamcatcher and a stencilled dreamcatcher. I find the whole concept a bit hard to explain, but basically it is supposed to evoke memories of being in certain places, in this case my bedroom, where sometimes you just remember a certain colour, object or smell and that innediatly takes you back to that place and the memories you had there. Plus I had alot of fun jumping up and down on my bed to get the blurry photos. I sincerely recommend it.
