Another shot of Davis' Field, in York Village, Maine. At recess we used to play in this field (our elementary school at the time was way to the left, off frame. We stayed behind the fence you don't see which is also off frame.) Behind that chainlink fence we had the field and the whole woods to run in. It was wonderful. Amazingly few "casualties". And I never got a tick. I never knew what a tick WAS. (We had no deer ticks back then, and I'd never caught a wood tick)

Anyhoo, If you step over the stone wall out of First Parish Cemetery (the place to shoot flowers) this is exactly what you'll see looking southeast. I have a shot of the continuation of this land looking southwest (?) in another account.

I hope the Davis bros. leave it forever wild. Too much of York is developed....developers come in from other states and lay urban sprawl, killing habitat and making people into angry, surly neighbors (no privacy). They rape the land, get their wad of $$$ then run, doing the same to another town. It's not just sad....it's wrong. The animals were here first.
