Week 2 Main Prompt 1/2 : Xtreme Apple Bobbing

Hey! This looks like fun! Let's join in on X-STREME APPLE BOBBING hopefully you know how to swim or breathe in water, because these druids are here to WIN!

Its festival time in Willow Valley. The streets were decorated with hoot decorations. Food littered the tables laid out in fields for folk to help themselves. The streets and homes of folk were covered with colorful streamers. There were new pumpkins to replace the ones from last year. Most of said pumpkins were carved to look like druid kits. There were market stalls selling food , costumes and assorted goodies. Everywhere you looked was packed with folk to a unnerving amount. It made some of the team members want to leave the road. Hootenanny was one of the largest festivals next to Prismatic Promade and the grove always went all out on celebrating. Team The Treatening decided that to do large amounts of research that they would take part in as many activities as the grove would offer them. Most likely they would overhear something while still having fun.There was a huge field set up with a large pool filled with apples for the xtreme apple bobbing competition. However there were also wooden containers filled with apples for a more chill competition. It was for those that either didn't swim , couldn't swim , or just didn't feel like getting into a large pool of overwhelming bitey kits. Both Runa and Rumble didn't wish to be near the screaming crowd. For being too close to the new druids there was a risky recipe for getting bitten and possibly getting a blight. Even if there were many adults to supervise the event there was a small chance. Even being outside was a large risk alone for there was predators also. Sickness was a deep fear that made Runa wary but Rumble outright refused to be over near the pool. Rumble was becoming fidgety and scratching his phylactery nonstop. It would be like him to get super upset if pushed. He would not end up in a hospital before he found their missing friends Nexus and Lestriding. So it was settled that the team would apple bob in the containers to not distress their team friends. They found some team members from the shrimp trope that was normally local to whispering caves but was out enjoying the event.The Treatening chose Aria to represent the team in the competition. Aria's opponent to be was a nice younger kit named Crisp Crumble. The apple shrimp was followed by Crimson for emotional support and safety in numbers. The shrimp trope was rather known for traveling in large groups so every shrimp kit had a friend. Crisp Crumble was a witch kit with gills that had a competitive streak. They were eager to challenge anyone at things to get better at them. The goal was to be able to hold your breath underwater for longer. It was a skill both teams were good at. It was discovered that Aria was very good at apple bobbling and was doing better than Crisp Crumble was. Aria had a small advantage due to her being full druid but it was a skill based game of speed and dexterity. Crisp Crumble in a apples eagerness kept dropping the apples needed to score points.The teams were eager to cheer their team members on to winning. Hydran and Ipod were the loudest of cheerers making Rumble flinch every time they would holler. Runic and Runas cheering was more calmer. Crimson joined in on cheering for his shrimp trope member in a polite manner. The noise sort of blended together among the festival background.

“You can do it Aria!”
“The Treatening!!!”
“Yay Treatening!!!”
Crimson tried to match the eagerness of the opposing team but was drowned out.
Rumble could only think that any time not spent searching for their friends was wasted time. Rumble could continue hoping that they would hear information. He could only half hearted clap when Aria turned around as a winner of the competition to smile at them. Everyone else however was very distracted and happy that The Treatening won. Crisp Crumble was tired from the competition and said congratulations to the team. The shrimp parted ways with Treatening to take a shrimp sleep for it was late in the night. The Treatening waved them goodbye and went to turn in also. Perhaps tomorrow would bring luck in further research. Rumble suggested that they quiz more grove members. It would require them visiting more crowded places but it would be safer in a indoors area. It gave everyone hope.
