Many people find it taboo. Some people even go apeshit when their shitty grammar is corrected, even if they're native English speakers. I got news for you.There is no rule regarding grammar correction.

I just get annoyed when people do that constantly. Especially since you can correct your comments now.

I agree wholeheartedly.
That said, it's good to keep in mind that there is technically no such thing as "incorrect" English. For example, saying "He ain't never hurt no-one" is perfectly acceptable in some dialects, but deviates from "Standard" English.
Also, while misspellings and confusion between homophones (its, it's; your, you're, yore; their, there, they're; to, too, two, Tue.; etc.) can be confusing, and while it's perfectly fine to correct that kind of spelling error, that kind of confusion in ancient languages has been useful in knowing the sounds of words.
