I can't express how infinitely inspired I am by the above description. There's a lot more explanation in the original post, but I just skipped the middle part and was blown away by the ending, where against all odds Asgore "become a cactus."

I can't stop laughing; I think I've reached nirvana

On another note, in all honesty I've never been into AUs, but I like the idea of Asgore becoming a soulless plant instead of Asriel. It would put an entirely different fatherly spin on the story.
