Description
For Mis, this is Ori/Oreo/Oriodno. I have drawn him in the past, but his design has evolved a bit over time, especially since he finally has a story to adapt to. He is much more like a real spider than his original design. Pictured here is Ori when he is still very small (for a great spider), probably only five years old, about his age when the RP between me and Mischief takes place. I drew a crappy hand for size comparison. Note, these are not the same spiders as those from Harry Potter or Middle Earth.Great Spiders are large, intelligent, and immensly curious, but not very social. The females are much bigger (the largest can grow to the size of a small car, while males max out at around the size of a large dog) and scarier than the males. Females are also more aggressive, and like many other spider species, will not hesitate to kill and eat the males who fail to impress them before or while mating, or even because they are just hungry. Their habitat ranges from thick forest to rocky piles of boulders. The male's lifespan averages around 20 to 30 years, or less if he likes to hang around the ladies. The females live for over 50 years. Great spiders aren't the pickiest of eaters, but if they prey is completely new unknown to them, it is normal behavior to attempt to capture subjects alive in order prod, taste, etc. in order to get a sense of whether the creature is dangerous or edible. Like all spiders, they can produce silk, but Great spiders do not spin webs. Instead, they make or take over burrows, surrounding the interior and nearby objects with a complex setup of silk tripwires that alert the spider to incoming prey, as well as other clever traps.
Ori's not scary and hairy, he's fluffy and adorable.
asdf I'm still bad at drawing with the tablet.
