Or maybe some unicorn losing control of her magic, like when Twilight Sparkle had a lot of magic surge from her as a filly in The Cutie Mark Chronicles, turning the newly-hatched Spike enormous. But I say Discord could do that, too, if he can enlarge apples on one of Applejack's Trees, then he shouldn't have any problems doing it with ponies.

I wish I was a giant Pegasus too. That way, I can race Rainbow Dash just for fun of it.

Yeah, but it would be a totally different story racing somepony who's several times the size of your house. To Rainbow Dash, these trees are nothing but tall grass to her, and anypony racing her is not much more than the size of a bug.... it still would be pretty awesome to be there though!
