you came to me one evening and i thought it was a dream
i now realize the most amazing dreams happen while you are awake

something so long awaited was suprisingly more then ever expected
only one sleepless night with you and i want to be awake forever

time runs too quickly when you want it to barely move
dawn always comes too soon on a night that should never end

since then my restless mind is alive with swirling thoughts of you
nothing to capture the words or calm the storm of feelings

nearly everything about you i have left to discover
yet there is something inside me that knows the inside of you

now the only thing left remaining is our limitless patience
and a runaway tear traveling down my cheek to learn the unknown
