Description:
It has been 28 years since Rose gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven and not all gems have been taking it well.All of the gems had been hurt by roses absence but they grew to love Steven as much as they loved Rose.Steven now is 28 and is engaged to Connie who is 26.The future had brung many surprises but one thing hasn't changed....Pearls love for Rose and sadness over her permanent absence

Chapter 1 Life now
It has been 28 years since Roses choice.By now Steven was 28 and had proposed to Connie who he had been dating for the past 11 years. Greg and Pearl were now very good friends putting away the feud they had so many yeas ago. Peridot and Lapis were closer to the original crystal gems though they still lived in the barn. Amythest had grown a bit more mature but never lost her childish behavior much like Steven hadn't. Garnet hadn't really changed that much.She was still the "leader" of the gems and was still pretty serious about missions but she had softened. After watching Steven grow up and Pearl become more open.She seemed to smile more and like Steven had expected she welcomed Connie into the family with open arms just like the others gems had.Steven was sitting in a small temple connected to the one he had grown up in after he was 21 his father,Connie,and the gems had helped him build is own place it was spacious but not too big around the same size as the living room and his room in the temple.Right next to him was Connie they were both sitting on the couch watching t.v. together.There was a staircase leading up the the gems temple in case they needed to get their quickly.Steven had his head laid on top Connie's gently as she laid against his chest.She had long ago fallen asleep and he was smiling as he watched t.v. with the love of his life.He felt his eyes begin to shut when suddenly he heard a bang on his door and his eyes shot open as did Connie's and they both got up.It was Garnet
"Its a gem mutant a big one"She spoke the couple nodded after Connie grabbed her sword they and they ran with Garnet to see a gem mutant around size of a very large Lion.The two grabbed each other hands and ran at the monster.Stevens gem began to glow and he nodded at Connie and she nodded back and jumped into his arms and they fazed into each other and Stevonnie was formed and they grabbed the sword of their back and charged at the mutant summoning their shield while they were in the air.After half an hour the two finally defeated the mutant with the help of garnet and she bubbled the mutant's gem and sent it too the temple
"thank you Stevonnie"stevonnie smiled
"no problem they replied before Steven and Connie unfused and after saying goodbye to garnet went to back to their cozy little home.Connie went to put her sword away and Steve n sat on the couch.In the gems temple a certain gem was sitting on the couch looking up at he the portrait that still hung above the temples door when suddenly there was a knock at the door and she went to open it and saw Greg and she smiled
"hey pearl hope i'm not interrupting anything"Greg said, "may I come in" Pearl smiled and went to the side
"come on in" after he stepped in she closed the door, "do you want anything a drink a snack"he shook his head
"no thank you Pearl"She nodded and next to him on the couch and they just talked for awhile after about 3 hours Greg got up, "whelp I better get going....see ya tomorrow Pearl"
"goodbye Greg see you tomorrow" She shut the door after he left and walked into her room. Amethyst walked out of her room a moment later and walked into the kitchen and grabbed a couple sandwiches and walked back into her room.......Soon night fell upon the town and the townsfolk turned of their lights and the town grew silent. Another day had passed
