The GA2117 is Gaelic Armaments' take on the M22 series of rifles produced by Canis Rifleworks. While the GA2117 doesn't have the unique four-point selector switch, it does feature a unique selector unlike most AR-platform weapons. It also features a side-charging handle just above the ejection port, rather than a T-pull handle in the rear. Despite the proprietary looking stock/grip combo, this rifle is fully compatible with any AR buffer tube stock and any AR-compatible pistol grips. However, the unique trigger group makes this impossible to use with drop-in trigger kits (though, why would you need one when this one shoots in bursts?). Another point for people is the weird magazine and the mag-well. While the mag-well is an intentional design choice, the magazine is a STANAG-pattern, allowing for the use of any STANAG-compatible magazines to function in this rifle. All in all, if you need something like an M22 and can't get your hands on it, this is a good second choice.
This was made for day 24 of #Guntober , which was to make an "M16;" in other words, make a firearm that either might actually look like an M16 but isn't actually an M16, or a firearm that might not look like an M16, but it is actually an M16. As for day 23, I skipped it as I had to go somewhere with my parents, so I didn't have the time to make an "AK47." I might get to it at some point after October and have it be a #Guntober afterparty exclusive, as well as some other firearms that might fit the prompt list.
ℹ By creating firearm artwork/renders of such, I am in no way involved in any military or promote it, and I do not encourage violence as a whole. I only create these just for fun. Remember, responsibility comes to the person who is behind the barrel pulling the trigger.
