Deviant Art needs to clear up a few issues with the new categories. . . .it's really screwing me up. . .I was watching my brother play Heroes of Might and Magic 3, and he was the Inferno town. He managed to find the Grail and brought it to his town. The Grail adds 5000 gold to the income, increases creature growth rate by 50%, and does a special effect for each town. The Inferno grail makes every week thereafter the "Week of the Imp", which increases the already high growth of Imps and their upgraded forms Farmiliars by 15. I commented "You're gonna have those things all over the place!" And thus, I decided to do a wallpaper, 1024x768.

In Heroes I and II, the towns were labelled according to their hero types. (i.e. Knight, Warlock, etc). However, the Sorceress hasn't been in the games since Heroes II.

Well, I didn't usually play 1st and 2nd versions (Although, I did for some time), so netherless, I never bothered with naming them. I was introduced to HMM by the second/third part. Netherless, I have missed the name part of the first two games. >_>

For the first two, it would be: A Strategic Quest (I), The Succession Wars and the Price of Loyalty for II and it's expansion.

I am going to go over each again anyway, as part of my job in Abandonia's magazine... so I hope to do so soon enough. Hm... I wonder where would series continue if 3DO didn't went bankrupt...

For the record, I have all the Heroes games except for I and the expansions for IV. (I got four with my special edition Heroes V.)

They still follow the same basic gameplay. Just because they moved a few units around, did not change much.

Are you sure you are not confusing this with Wake of gods or something? Conflux was the only town to be added officialy, the battlefield size change was not sighted, and.... again - are you sure you are not talking about WoG?

Heh, it's pretty hard to get Heroes 3 nowdays. You can't download any legal version because it's not abandoneware yet, but the Nival are unlikely to loose it either - they knoew what 3rd was basicly the best instalment. I think they might even release an expansion pack for it.

That too, but it does random crashes sometimes, and the same thing happens on my brother's computer. I'm thinking that it's because this one was published by Ubisoft (not 'cause it was from the bargain bin).
