Charles is a former cop that accidentally got twisted up in some crazy shit.

LONG ABOUT:

The Rosetta family, commonly referred to as just
“The Family” runs a lot of things in a lot of cities,
and they have ties with just about every big business,
some of which aren’t even public or legal.

Local and cops abroad tie the Family to 112 crimes and there
are 28 members of the Family currently in prison or
custody for everything from petty thefts to federal tax evasion.
The Rosettas have family all over the planet but a relatively
unusual concentration in Wisconsin.

Charles began his relationship with the family as a traitor.
He was a detective for the local small town Wisconsin police department
when suddenly he was prompted to go undercover to infiltrate
one of the Rosetta mansions located on the outskirts of the small
Wisconsin town in which Charles had been living for his entire life.
He was to pose as a cousin and a member of the Family, and
was to report information back to Wisconsin police.

The Rosetta family were never idiots,
in fact the net intelligence of the Family alone was well above average.
They needed to be smart so they could remain unseen and undercover
while still commanding their many armies.
Their intelligence also allowed them to tell who was lying and who was not.

Charles, unbeknownst to himself and the police,
was found out immediately. Instead the Rosettas strung him along
and fed him deliberate false information while including him in their daily lives
and extravagant events.

Overtime, the Family became used to Charles
and started to appreciate his presence. They realized that despite his nervous
and jittery nature, he would make a good member of the Family himself.

Arrangements were made so that Charles could cut his ties with the police
and stay with the Family full time.
