Remember Sonic the Hedgehog '06 when Mephiles had killed him? Well another conflict gradually unraveled itself and happened between ~12 and 1 AM on a Saturday night. Sonic was snuggly rested in a house that resided near the village of Mobius; he seemed peaceful and happily laying on his personal Cloud 9, one could even say that he was having an eternal slumber. But alas, it wasn't long until the 'hog began to toss and turn with individual beads of sweat tracing one another along the side of the of his face. His eyes cringed with overwhelming awe, and his heat beat began to race as the 'hog's hands would take a firm grip upon the bedspread-- OK, Mephiles ended up having butt sex with poor, intoxicated Sonic. But knowing him and his cocky personality, he couldn't bare with reality so he ran out of his house and broke down in a nearby forest. THE END.

I think what happened is he ran into the forest after he realized he lost everyone, after thinking a bit about Amy, Tails, Rouge, Knuckles, Cream and Cheese, he just broke down "NONE OF THEM SHOULD HAVE DIED!!"
