Description
Inuyasha Fanfiction without Inuyasha, (LOL) focused on Sesshoumaru's past and the world he lived in.

The story uses the narrative suggested in Inuyasha movie 3 that Inupop dies shortly after his battle with Ryukotsusei.
I adopted and changed some elements from cannon to fit my vision of this story.
The style of writing is inspired by classic court tales.

Sesshoumaru's mother is referred in the story as Shirakume 白狗女 from Chapter 5 on.
It is a name I came up with, since the cannon doesn't tell her name.

Two chapters with brief, subtle lime scenes.
They will be flagged as mature content.
The rest is PG13.

First three chapters were written without the expectation of making this into a continuous story. The main plot unfolds from chapter 4.

Notes regarding this work:

This story is set in "pre-Inuyasha storyline" universe.
It is a tale of Sesshoumaru's youth, leading up to his father's death. I was interested in developing a past story for Sesshoumaru before the time of cannon Inuyasha. So it is logical that most of cannon characters are absent from this story.

Izayoi is briefly mentioned in the background, since Inu no Taishou's affair with her was already happening at the time of the story. However, she will not take part in this story, because it is not my interest to extend my focus on her or her relationship with Inu no Taishou. I am focused on the relationship between Sessmom and Inupop, and their relationship to their son, Sesshoumaru.

This is really for me to satisfy my own vision, to establish "Sesshoumaru" how I perceive him, along with images of him I have been creating. I've always thought Sesshoumaru seemed like he was slumming in the cannon Inuyasha. As a Sesshoumaru fan, I was always disappointed in the way he was treated in the manga. So, I created the world which I thought would showcase him better. Most importantly, he is the protagonist, not his brother.

Note 1: For fanatic shippers and OC haters...I wanted to see Sesshoumaru with someone who is more mature, and from his class. (which none of the cannon characters are) So, that is what I gave him. I am proud of how I developed all of my OCs.
If you can't accept that, simply stay away.

I do not "ship" Sesshoumaru with any particular character, canon or oc. What I like to do is to give him situations that would make a decent story.

Note 2:
If you only know anime Inuyasha, there may be concepts referred in the story you may be missing, such as Sesshoumaru's mother's role in Tenseiga's development.

Note 3: I am writing this with "mature" audience in mind. I don't mean by mature for the sexual content (which is very subtle anyway) I mean "mature" in a way that it involves more adult behavior, and characters will act more like people in the noble class, not like middle class human teenagers from 21st century.
