So this has been a long time coming. and I finally got our TP props from Aaron of fiberglassblades.com and both of our costumes are 100% complete! I still need to tweak a few minor things with the chainmail and boots but all in all it feels good to finally cosplay Link with props thanks again to Aaron!Related content

yeah nothing really happens on sunday I never cosplay because of having to check out of the hotel early. that and we usually stay up all night Saturday night XD.

well hopefully we'll have more Link costumes. I know we both have epic cosplays planned seperate of each other but we'll see if E3 this year brings us any new Link cosplays

Damn, you guys look awesome! Great work, both of you. I remember being incredibly impressed and inspired by Inky Link's cosplay back in 2007, and it looks even better now. Incredible work.

thanks, yeah we've both upgraded our costumes quite a bit since then. Also these are the newer TP costumes we havent worn the OoT ones in awhile. I hope to remake the green tunic soon.

I might just use foam and Model Magic. I hear it's a cheap, durable, lightweight solution.

yeah it can be used really well if you have the hand for it
uses it for most of her accessories. I dont know how it would work for an entire armor piece though.

Well her stuff turned out pretty well.
Plus let's face it, if you don't want to be super stiff in the armor, you'd have to make it in pieces tacked to a leather tank-top like thing anyway.

yeah thats one option. just be careful it doesnt crack or tear it's not that strong of stuff without proper sealants

Well, what if it was coated with a layer of fiberglass? If not that, then what are these "proper sealants?"

well fiberglass would seal it, using just the resin though would make it crack if you used the cloth over it then sanded etc.. you'd be fine. The one problem with model magic is that differences in humidity and temperature make it shrink a bit so depending on what you use it can crack your sealant.
I know that akuriko uses modge podge and then for her new ST Zelda she coated it with pour on which is what they use to seal off like nice wooden bar tops etc...

All the fiberglassing's done, I just need to putty the blade, sand, paint, sculp the hilt and mantle, then paint.
I'm confident I can get it done this summer. Perhaps the shieth too...if I knew a good material to use for it.
