So this is one of my favorite pictures from Acen 2010. I got a lot of great pictures of my finally finished Link costume but I really like this one. Plus 's wonderful Zelda costume always makes the picture that much cooler! So mad props to her on that.Related content

FINALLY a girl who can pull of cosplaying Zelda right. She has the correct body type for Zelda and the right facial structure. I'm so picky about these things, but she really does the princess justice.
Your Link costume is AWESOME. I love the sword and shield. I also love the color of the tunic... most get it a little too green for TP!Link, but this is nice.

I chose to go with a brown wig since in the game his hair seams darker. They lightened it to super blonde again in brawl though.

These are beautiful! You two fit the characters very well. I've always wondered how people go about making costumes like these. How long did it take you and what was your process? (I don't need a step by step lol, just a general process I guess :] )

for this it took me about half a year of on and off working. I really enjoy wearing this costume but making it wasnt as fun as my other costumes lol. I had already been commissioning twilight princess bracers and baldrics for years before I did this so making most of the accessories felt like another job XD. but I"m happy with how it turned out in the end. The tunic was pretty hard I used patterns that had used on a commission and altered them to fit me.

Really nice looking costumes. Link, is your arm guard actually made out of leather like your sword strap? The camera is kind of blurring the arm, so it's hard to tell just by looking at it.
And just out of curiosity, is Zelda wearing a wig, or did she actually style her hair for this?

yep all the stuff that's supposed to be leather is real leather. Leather work is one of my favorite parts about cosplay which is why my costumes usually have some sort of leather on them.
Zelda's hair is indeed a wig. She made it more full by wefting more extensions into it.

Ok, I asked about her wig because my friend thought it was a wig seeing as there was so little 'fly away' hair, but we couldn't say for sure.
I did have one other question. Have the two of you ever met the Pikmen twins that play as Link and Zelda?

I don't know if they do red and blue link, but I do know that they are well known at cons for doing really great Link and Zelda cosplay.

I've heard of Pikmin Link yes but she usually cosplays alone these days she used to cosplay with Princess Zelda but they had a falling out.

Its never good when you have a falling out with a Sibling. I know how it goes though, I don't talk much to my sisters anymore. We didn't get mad at eachother, we just moved to differnt places and kind of drifted apart.

They are actually a resin called smooth on 300. Oddly enough they are from fiberglassblades.com. He doesnt make them out of fiberglass anymore though lol.
