After years where the Federated Orion Territories have stood by as the Coalition have fought against the Anfari, and held them off, finally a peace treaty is signed between the two superpowers. In a move to secure public support amongst the íncreasingly aware citizens of the Federated States, the Parliament of worlds agree on making their first action against the Anfari by assembling thousands of small fleets along the borders of Federated territory. These were to be sent to the war-ravaged planets of the outer Coalition to help evacuate civillians from their homeworlds, where the Anfari continue to push their relentless warmachine ever closer to defeating humanity. This undertaking was designated the name project Guardian.

The Parliament of Worlds, as well as the Council of Inner affairs saw this as not just an oppertunity to increase their standing with the Coalition treaty and public support of the citizens, but also as a means of testing out the newly modernised fleet. The picture depicts two out of five ships from one of these fleets a few minutes before their destruction, fighting to the very end, side by side, until it is done.
