Description
Title is a reference to the first part of Prov. 13:12, "hope deferred makes the heart sick."
Two of my long-standing OCs, each undergoing a bit of a redesign and me finally finishing a full scene with them. Arrow is a Dutch Shepherd trained as a search-and-rescue dog. Kona is a stray, a young Australian Cattle Dog x Pit mix, sweet but very fearful. Their first unofficial meeting -- eye contact from across the street as Arrow was on a walk with his human -- ended with Kona nervously slinking off into the shadows before running away.
In spite of her wish for humans she could call her own, she was too afraid to come close, in spite of Arrow's friendly posturing and encouraging barks and whines.
Nevertheless, it wouldn't be the first time they'd see each other. Far from it. Maybe I'll draw some other scenes sometime later, but for now I'm happy I finally completed this scene and I like how it turned out, especially since I'm not great with backgrounds.
