Heng is a chipper young sushi dog who brings an air of hope with him wherever he goes. He (will be) created on Chinese New Year of 2019, the year of the boar. He was born out of the New Year festivities, of course, but also out of the hope that this year will bring good luck and better days than years prior.

Being a symbol of hope, Heng displays a strong naiveté. Most would consider his relentless positivity childlike, but that’s exactly the pessimistic view that Heng was created to combat. His purpose is to inspire optimism in EVERYBODY, especially adults who have given up on remaining optimistic about the future. He visits many people, doing his best to convince them that as long as they have the hope and drive to keep trekking on, they can never fail. His catchphrase is multiple variations on the phrase, “I’ll give up when pigs fly!” This almost always gets him a laugh, due to his appearance; his sense of humor helps people open up to him.

To aid him in his endeavors, Heng uses his power. He has the ability to produce miniature hongbao packets with two chocolate coins inside of each. These coins are special; the little image of the boar’s head on the coins move and react as if they were alive. Heng’s power is meant to remind recipients that the impossible can become possible if they put their minds to it.

Extra info:
-I went for the theme "When Pigs Fly!" I tried to suggest a boar piglet's markings with the floral designs, and I gave him a piglike nose, ears, teeth, and tail
-He pulls the hongbao packet from his tail and the coins from his bandana to give to others; both of these items replenish themselves immediately
-According to a (semi-reliable?) source, the word "heng" is used to describe the noise a pig makes
