When Dana first got the case, she asked if a prank was being played on her. When she was told no, she nearly threw the file at the wall.

AV geeks at a local university making a mind control device? Using it to brainwash female students into becoming happy and obedient slaves?

It was so absurd that even Fox felt like this was a setup. Give her a case that was a nothingburger and use it against her when she failed. He believed there was a conspiracy at work, but one driven more by internal FBI politics than anything untoward at the university.

Dana first questioned the students who seemed to first spread the rumor. No luck with them. She then talked with some of the girls on campus who were supposedly under the control of these sinister nerds. She would have suspected nothing if she didn't notice a pattern.

All of these girls seemed to not only hold these guys in high esteem, but seemed insulted by her suspicion of them.

Then Dana went to the lab where this device was supposedly kept and demanded that the AV techs explain themselves. They said it was a light therapy device for people under a lot of stress.

Dana felt she could use something like that and decided to give it a go.

It worked better than she could ever imagine. She felt like she was adrift on a calm sea with none of her worries anywhere near her.

She was so relaxed that when one of the geeks told her to strip down to her underwear, she did so with a smile. Dana felt even more relaxed after that.

She wondered what other ideas they had on reducing her stress.
