Description
There isn't any HTML you need to remember, but if you like:
- Use two bold tags to make a heading, or three bold tags for a bigger heading with an underline.
- Wrap your thumbs in <div class="feature">...</div> to have them formatted differently.
- <blockquote> gets a little dotted border on the left
When you paste your images into the template, you don't have to be super accurate - just make sure to get it centred over the sample photos. The photo frame will crop the extra bits out for you.
You could submit it to your scraps, but make sure to get the URL of the actual image, and not just what's in the address bar when you view your deviation.
update, 6th May '09 styled the attribution footer, added background colour to the photo, so if background (man) doesn't load (when people change it) it's not transparent.

Thanks a lot!!
It looks complete in the preview, but it doesn't when I finish editing, so I guess it's a browser problem (I use Firefox, but it isn't always great).
I absolutely love this skin
(It's being used here: [link] )

Glad to hear it
Now, aside from the dA background colour being slightly off on the header it looks fine to me. What's the problem?

I love the dossier-style format. The photograph paperclipped to the corner was a nice touch. It's a shame I'm not a premium member though. I'd love to brighten up my journal background a bit.

I love this desgin, but unfortunately I cannot make it work. None of the graphics are displayed, except for the photo, which I replaced (it also doesn't work with the unmodified skin, I think the links just don't work anymore).

A bug made all the image links point to my server, which is gone now. I've put up a corrected CSS on pastebin - [link] - just drop it in and it'll fix the images.

hey!
this skin doesn't work at all for me
I don't see anything of it, when I install it,
it's just transparent and there's black square in the corner where the photo should be

A bug on dA cropped up that made all the image links point to my website instead of using the dA hosted versions. There's no way for me to fix this, but so long as my website was up the images would still work. Well, Murphy's Law happened you could say: my site is down (has been for months) and so the skin is broken.
Luckily you can fix it by clicking 'Edit Skin' and then replacing the whole CSS with the CSS from this pastebin - [link] - which points all the image links back to dA.

In my original design it was just an empty frame, and everyone would choose their own picture to go inside. When I was looking for a stock image of a old fashion photo I came across this man. It was a group of four photos, each one with a different pose. Instantly I thought it would be funny if I took the 'normal' face and made him change when you hover over him
Unfortunately the original is now in storage, otherwise I'd link to it.

Yeah, sorry, dA is meant to host the images for journals, but at some point it bugged out and pointed to my server, which has been down for a while now.
If you still want to use the skin you can get working links for the images from the preview journal

I know you uploaded this ages ago, but....
I installed this skin to my journal and edited the pictures, following your instructions. Something seems to have failed, I'm not sure what. If you've any idea what I did wrong, please let me know so I can fix it.... XP
It should still be the first journal entry on my profile. It's a lovely skin, thanks for uploading and ( hopefully (; ) taking the time to help me! haha

It's not your fault; my site is down
Images for journal skins are supposed to be hosted on dA, but at some point that bugged out and I had to host them myself. Until I get my site back up the links will be broken, but if you check out the live preview you can grab the images hosted by dA

Am I doing something wrong? I can see the elements in the preview but when I apply the skin and look at my profile, everything but the body.jpg is missing. I can host all the css images in my account if that helps. I just wanted to rule out any other noobish mistakes before I try that option.

Sure, it's simple to add a scrollbox into any journal skin. Stick the following into your journal text:
...and in your CSS add:
.scroll{overflow:auto;max-height:500px;}
If you add a scrollbox though, it means I wasted all those hours making sure the skin didn't need one!

I love it! But, I still don't know how to chance my photo. I have two photos: one that'll be visible and the other to appear when somebody pass with the mouse. I can do it? I don't know if I explained right, my english sucks.
