Nice, apart from the whole "reaching for your purse while squating" thing. But it's war within, so it makes sense. The colors are very nice though.

The poses are duplicated directly from the toys' original packaging artwork - it is curiously in keeping with the old Dreamwave style though, isn't it

Sidetrack's alt. mode looks like it should be shooting at AT-AT's on planet Hoth.

sunrunner's alt mode is an imperial guard fighter bomber

I noticed the updated Marauder model bore a striking resemblance when it was released (although it's fairly obvious that the Imperial aircraft are intended to homage WWII fighters and bombers) - I wonder if the GW staff watch my page for ideas
Sunrunner's altmode was actually inspired by a combination of the height adjusting lever on my office chair, the Naboo starfighter from Star Wars (although the influence of that had almost vanished by the time I reached this final design) and the altmode of my pre-Earth design for the dinobot, Swoop

Very very belated comment but holy crap awesome. What's scary is these guys in japan were human sized in robot mode and went full sized in combat craft mode

Cool~ Simple and Sweet~ erm... is it me or "Big Shot" 's vehicle mode is similiar to a different version of Optimus Prime?

The front end bears a resemblance to WW Op whilst overall there are design influences from several sources (the marines' APC from Aliens was involved at one stage and still shows slightly) Thanks for the fave

Nice! Looks like something right out of the MTMTE books!
I like the designs for all of them, but I particularly like Big Shot's and Sunrunner's altmodes and Sidetrack's bot mode.

Wow...I remember these guys. My cousin had that set. I got the Space Patrol, with the two little guys combining into a space shuttle.
Nostalgic...

Great work man, but they look kinda "evil" for autobots don't they?

fourth-heir In reply to Paradyne [2006-11-08 12:34:55 +0000 UTC]
They're grim and determined soldiers rather than former merchants or artists so they have to look pretty mean really. I remember when I saw the first advert for this wave of Micromasters - I presumed the Battle Patrol were Decepticons back then.
Thanks for the fave

woot! sunrunner is now like a cybertronian c-130... and for that, he has to be my favorite. i love the alt modes best for all of the guys. the bot modes look pretty close to their original forms. good work all around, man.

correction, only a couple look like their original bot modes. ><

I do try and retain the robot mode features of Cybertronian redesigns. It seems to me that the TF would want to keep as much of his original appearance as possible in spite of the new altmode he acquires when arriving on Earth (if a feature isn't a necessary design element of the altmode then it stays unaltered, e.g. Big Shot's torso).
