I generally use cell shading for shadows and soft shading for lights...this time I did the opposite
How's better in your opinion? ^^

Hmmm, that's hard. Sometimes the picture needs your normal way of doing things. I tend to notice you're very fond of the light hearted pictures that make people smile. That's why your coloring is so effective.

But on pictures like this, you did exactly what you needed to do to portray what was going on. A darker shading shows that Sally is feeling blue, and the situation isn't innately a happy one.

So personally I can't answer that question because you do exactly what is needed when you create a picture.
