To the West of the Central Plains, lies the heart of the Coalition, a political powder keg, where the people's opinions matter little, unless they agree with the leaders pulling the strings. This leader of the Coalition is known as the Midland Kingdoms. While technicly under the same givernment, the Midland is ruled by two kings, who rule over East and West Midlands respectivly. History has often shown Midlanders to be a violent people, at one point ruleing the entire contenent breifly, before being crushed from within by sympathisers, Eastern folk, and Isle Folk. Since then, whilst maintaining a strong military, the Midlands has lost much of its self confidence. In an effort to play the part of the 'good guy' its parlament and two kings decided to fully open its boarders and form the Coalition. It acepts a steady and constant stream of folk from other lands, be they from the other Coalition kingdoms, or the Southern Empire. At first everything was looking up... then the crime wave hit. Foriginers, with no pride in the country, took to forceing thier culture upon its people. What had once been peaceful refugees and imigrants now looked to be an invasion force. Midlanders strugle with this daily, thier pleas for a solution only falling on deaf ears of thier kings, or being answered with blaim cast elsewhere from the parlament. The recent target of blaime has been the Plainsfolk to the East, for not followibg the Coalition in opening its boarders.
Militarily, they are forced to keeping what modicum of peace withing thier own boarders that they can. Heavily armed and armored men patrol the streets daily to try and quell upriseings, insurgents, gangs, and the like.
Meanwhile, in a much diffrent posistion is the mildly isolated Easter Fjordsmen. Just East of the Northlands is a series of coastal fjords, where a fairly stand offish people make thier way through life, hunting, fishing, and keeping old druidic traditions as alive as possible. Only recently have they seemed to even notice the rest of the world. They are close allies with their Western neighbors, the North Landers, and often visit and trade openly with the similar culture. Whilst they have many gods other cultures never even heard of, thier druidic ways tend to be very peaceful... until provolked. Much to the surprise of thier NorthLander friends, they recently fought off an invasion from the East Lands, a place known for its massive numbers and swarm tactics. When asked why the very small populace of the Fjords didnt call for help, the Fjordsmen simply shruged and stated in the bluntest of terms, "We had it handled."
