Description
He's used to a flirtatious voice telling him things it didn't mean; how handsome he was, he's so strong, why should a big guy like him be all alone? He's used to that same voice belonging to a curvaceous bat with fur that was white as snow, and eyes that could bring any man to his knees. He's used to falling for the voice's words, letting his guard down, and being tricked and losing the Master Emerald.

He's not used to a flirtatious voice telling him things it truely meant; how handsome he was, he's so strong, its not fair he's all alone on this island. He's not used to seeing the pale blue fur and golden eyes always searching for adventure. He's not used to letting his guard down to this voice, listening to the things it said, and watching it's owner leave without swiping the Master Emerald.

"Tri." Knuckles muttered down to the fox that was relaxing in his lap, eyes closed as he enjoyed the sun coming down on them.

"Hm?" Triton only let out a hum of acknowledgement, his mouth turned in a small smile as he continued to lounge in Knuckles' lap. Hearing nothing else and feeling those amethyst eyes on him, the fox opened his eyes. "What's up?"

The echidna opened his mouth, before closing it, unsure if he should say what was on his mind.. but he can't help but express his slight worry, "Why don't you ever try stealing the Master Emerald?"

The fox's smile turned into a confused frown, and he sat up, looking at the red male. He asked, "I don't know- why would I need to steal it?"

Knuckles closed his eyes with a sigh, "Because it's a massive, powerful jewel. And you're an adventurer, always after the treasures you find along the way." He doesn't expect a small laugh to come from the fox, and it makes him open his eyes to glare softly at the other, not able to ignore how Triton was smiling at him.

"You are really a big knucklehead," Triton chuckled and ignored the glare he received, "You still think I'm like that thieving bat that likes to come by occasionally?" He watched as Knuckles rolled his eyes slightly, and didn't let the echidna respond. He gently moved, lifting one of the spines that hung from Knuckles' head, twirling it gently around his fingers before speaking, gazing down at the red fur, "Besides.. I prefer handsome rubies such as yourself."

The echidna had to look away, feeling his face burn as his chest swelled with love and appreciation for the other.. not that he would outwardly spill it out. He grumbled, hooking an arm around Triton and laid back, pulling him with him to snuggle him close. He couldn't help the smile that spread on his face though as he felt the fox's tail wag, the soft muzzle nuzzling under his own.

"I guess you're not so bad yourself." Knuckles mumbled.
