Description

The evening was late and bitter cold from the earlier rain; Archie shivered beneath his fur and hugged his vest tighter to him. The last place he had wanted to go was outside, yet that's where he knew he would find the Head of Security.

He spotted Marshall across the roof, sitting on the bulwark with his legs dangling over the edge. The raccoon, surprised Marshall was in his beastly form, began to approach the massive creature and caught a whiff of ashy smoke. As Archie drew closer, he hailed the security guard.

“Mister Warden?”

There was no reply, but the faint glow of orange around the werewolf’s face betrayed another drag off the cigarette Archie had smelt.

“Marshall?”

Again, he was met with silence. Archie frowned and slowed his pace, steering towards the edge of the roof to see what Marshall was so focused on; it wasn’t normal for the usually attentive werewolf to ignore anyone.

There was an emptiness in the black wolf’s eyes, his gaze paralyzed looking forward over the Norweald forest and beyond its vastness. The unfocused yet oddly concentrated stare was completely unnerving to the little raccoon who immediately knew something was wrong. The scars on Marshall’s face, the ones littered across his body, told many stories that Archie had yet to hear, and likely never would; a lifetime of battles and pain.

Perhaps those battles were still being fought in Marshall’s mind.

Marshall taking a smoke break during patrol. Archie needs something, probably because Eugene is in trouble, but that Thousand yard stare the werewolf has makes him a little hesitant to approach. Fluffy woofer has some major PTSD from a lifetime of B.S.

There’s so much empty space in this X_X I wanted to try my hand at perspective because I haven’t done anything with ye ole two-point since high school. However, it did give me the opportunity to try some new brushes for the background.
