Okay now that I've pumped out the goods
I can now tell everyone where I have been!!!!

I moved out of my parents' house and moved to Minneapolis (thanks to some help from my bestest buddy 🥺🥺) on February first
This was just as Covid started kinda getting bad, but I made it there SAFELY.
I travelled over a thousand miles with my two mice in tow!
It was the most exhausting two days of my life (I also hate the Atlanta station but I've been stuck there for hours on MULTIPLE occasions 🙄)

Then I started to see snow.
We were just barely in Illinois (the last stop/transfer before minneapolis was Chicago, much to Simon's delight. He was ecstatic.)

I started on the coast of SC so seeing snow was absolutely thrilling.

I met my best friend at the station and it was the best thing. Hugging him for the first time felt so nice.

aNYWAY.

You can imagine that not only was I culture shocked
But also shit started hitting the fan with each month.
George Floyd was murdered within walking distance of my house. (I visited the location and I got fucking chills. Fuck 12. I hope his family is safe)
I even attended a protest to provide my voice and my general existence to amplify the voice of black lives. I ended up going home later that night because I was teargassed and my phone was almost dead anyway.
But I quickly learned that this community will fucking thrive. I was immediately tended to kindly by complete strangers.

It's a slow and painful effort, but the community is getting stronger and louder.

Despite all of this
The chaos, the fear, the tension

I've learned that this is my city
I feel like I've lived here for years
This is my home and so I've quickly and contently settled in
I'm incredibly happy despite everything

And the best news of all, the health care here is phenomenal
Planned Parenthood jumps thru the hoops FOR you and even normalizes the exchange of pronouns (speaking of I started T several months ago!)
And they offer programs to help those in need of medical financial assistance <3
I got a therapist and a primary care doctor

I'd like to thank my best friend ever
I love him more than I've loved anyone
He's my person and I'd literally commit a crime for him I don't even care
He has helped me on this INSANE and incredible journey
I've learned so much about people, myself, and my head mates

My life is beginning!!

And I have too many mice
