This is a tutorial showing how I manipulate my fractals when I don't like how they fade away at the edges, and can't brighten the entire thing without killing the perfect parts. It's basically using a Layer Mask to keep the part I like the same, while I enhance and tweak the rest of the fractal. This can really be used for any image to keep one part of it the way it is while you change the rest of the pic.

Intermediate level: You should be able to follow this if you have Photoshop CS3. I point out the location of most of the icons and stuff, so even beginners should be able to manage it. Hope it helps!
