Description
A present for the 60. birthday of my father, who is a huge fan of all things Tolkien.
It's one part of a diptych my brother and I created together. Out of the wide middle-earth universe, we decided to represent some dwarfish themes, because their species is uncharted and mysterious. This allowed us a little more creative freedom .
I chose to draw the first King of the dwarfes, Durin I..

This drawing is my first finished work since 3 or 4 years. I'm a bit unsatisfied with the interplay of light and shadow as a whole...I'm far to unpractised -.- . But all in all I shouldn't complain, it was enjoyable .

The scanning affected the texture quality a little, sorry :/.
