and i will talk and talk and act and think. i will speak up and push back when pushed. i will give and refuse to take. i will work until my batteries run dry. i will tell you exactly where we stand. i will counsel and advise from my perspective. i will listen and accept criticism. i will take responsibility for myself, but i refuse to be made responsible for anyone else. i will share my love and loyalty. i will recognize the difference between devotion and love. i will praise where it is due. i will allow you time and space. i will only expect what you can give me, what i can give in return. i will not resent you for your inabilities. i will be myself at whatever cost because i cannot do otherwise. i will care as much as i can stand to. i will help you if i can. i will step aside if i must. i will cry and laugh and dance. i will drink myself into sleep. i will smoke too many cigarettes to keep my hands busy. i will depend on myself, because that is all anyone can really count on. i will read and write.
