It is so frustrating when they put every single work like that I get that sometimes you wanna be quick, or don't want to send multiple texts when you could just send one to save money or whatever but most of the time it just makes me not taking them seriously.

you should probably get off your high horse since the bigger they are, the harder they fall, and at this rate you're gonna break all your bones and die in agony after several hours of crying out because your high horse wasn't quite high enough to give you the pleasure of a swift death
you might have missed it with how high off the ground you are and the fact your massively inflated ego may be cushioning most of it, but the rest of us can see it plain as day
π: 0 β©: 1
Phapha332 In reply to axris [2015-12-10 13:52:53 +0000 UTC]
That sounds amazingly appealing! Thanks for giving me the pleasant prediction, I love the sound of it.
And I didn't miss it, thank you very much for the precaution, though. My 'ego' as you put it isn't that inflated in most of my peers' opinions, my 'peers' being my real- life friends who know me much better than you do. You've just met me not a long time ago, so how do you even know if I'm on a high horse? I think it's correct to say that you judged me by a single comment that I made, which would make your comment an invalid argument. In this comment, all I said was that I don't support text language. And I truthfully don't. I think "text language" isn't even proper English. Let me ask, how does that land me in the position of a high horse? For this is what an average person would call "having an opinion". And is it okay if I ask you who the "rest of us" in your comment are? Because I'm pretty sure that even those guys weren't aware that I was a person in this world before my comment.
And by saying such things as "get off your high horse" and other rather pleasing commentaries, you won't change anything and I won't get off my "high horse", like I might have stated above. Besides, you seem to be disagreeing with this stamp, so why are you even here? May I ask this question as well?Β I won't change either, so I suggest you save your breath and energy to leave this comment and look at something that is more or less pleasing to your surprisingly easily- offended eye.
Regards,
Eunseo.

lmao you started speaking korean, i thought the topic was english?
the point is, English isn't like Latin. latin is a dead language. english is very much alive. you'd look pretty ridiculous talking in 1900s english to an english speaker in 1600. a 1600s english speaker would look pretty ridiculous talking to a 1200s english speaker. and you look ridiculous to people who have decided that the internet is not something to be taken seriously and don't need to look like absolute tools to get their points across.
correct spelling in the English language didn't even exist during Queen Elizabeth I's reign. Shakespeare? He had spelling mistakes up the asshole. One of the greatest english writers in history didn't even write in the high horse, holier-than-thou bullshit you call "proper English".
and if you need 100% perfect on spelling, grammar, and punctuation to understand what someone is saying, you haven't a fucking right to say you're better at English than people who don't. Because I don't need 100% accuracy with English to understand somebody's point.

Phapha332 In reply to axris [2015-12-11 03:00:19 +0000 UTC]
I only replied in Korean because you replied in a language other than English. Now, you are criticizing me for using a language other than English, when you were the first one to do so. This is rather hypocritical. If the topic was English, why did you reply in another language? I thought the topic was English as well? Can I say you started speaking another language, I thought the topic was English?
English, of course, is a swiftly developing language and it changes a lot. That is what makes a language alive. Same to Korean. New words like λ©λΆ, μ¦κ², μ¦μ»΄ come out every day. I agree with you on that.
And you're correct in a few aspects. In the Tudor times, spelling didn't exist. You can spell 'believable' as 'baleephable' and still get it right. But I find that using that fact as a counter argument is invalid. Now is not the Tudor times. Since English is constantly developing, as you said, proper spelling and English also developed over time as well. 'Proper English', of course, is not standardized. It keeps changing, of course. But I'm talking about what's considered 'proper English' today. Indeed, what was considered as 'proper English' in the Middle Ages would be laughed upon if written today. Still, nowadays, if you don't use what is the 'standardized' proper spelling and English, you get underestimated, even corrected. Even though some of the greatest writers didn't write in 'proper English', those writers were from a few hundred years ago. Now, if you don't use what's called 'proper English' in writing, your papers will be full of red ink. Shakespeare was a writer from the Tudor times. He didn't have what's called good spelling. If you wanted to use writers as a counter argument, I would have suggested using more modern writers, like J.K. Rowling and others.
I do not require 100% perfect spelling, grammar and punctuation to understand English. Text language merely bugs me. But maybe someday text words will also make it to the Dictionary. Still, for now, they are not. They're criticized instead.
