Description
And now introducing, the most dynamic lightning strike I have ever taken! You've gotta admit, the colors in this one are fantastic. It's like an entire rainbow of color, all originating from the lightning. The texture of the clouds also blows me away. This shot was taken just after a sheer cloud had passed over, so the textures were sweet! And to finish it off, we've got the silhouetted horizonPlease tell me what you think!

hmm now that i look at it more, the cloud looks like a giant poof-mushroom or something, with lighting coming out from the center

I've seen your lightning photos lately. It's much better when you include something on the horizon in the photo. Lightning itself is not that interesting, but when you see it hitting the ground... That's waaay better.
This photo is great. So, keep up like that!

Thank you very much, I try to include the horizon whenever possible, but sometimes I can't when we have cloud to cloud lightning directly above us
I'll try my best to keep it up, I'll place another order f some cloud to ground lightning for mother nature

You're welcome. The most important thing is to shoot . But if you concentrate on cloud to cloud lightnings, maybe you'll miss some good earth lightnings. An those are, in my opinion, always more interesting.
You're doing great, so keep up!

Thanks!
My shutter on this was 1/25 because it was still light out, but usually you'll want to use a shutter of about 1 second (which you'll usually get by focusing the photo on a dark night sky).
Just send me a note, I'd be glad to give you tips

Thank you! For once a cloud to ground lightning shot actually worked for me, the bolt couldn't have positioned itself more perfectly
