This is a favourite of mine... sorry about the poor quality, its a transfer from a 35mm negative... but i had to put this up as its all about the expressions of these two kids. To me, this picture sums up the Nepalese people perfectly... the girl is happy, and has this beautiful smile, yet her brother is hiding beneath a cloth and looks around worried... what with the current political state the country is in... i think this is perfectly fitting.The original was a little more colourful than this shot... but i bleached some of the colours out, as i didn't want to detract from the expressions... yet i also didn't want to go to Black & White, as i didn't want it to seem too harsh or depressing...
I've never met nicer people than the Nepalese... i've never experienced a more confused country than Nepal...

It's an interesting composition because first you look at the girl and then diagonal draws your eye down to the boy and you kind of flip from happy to pensive quite quickly...cool
