Description Do you remember those "KSwiss" shoes? The ones with the tongues which you could twist? Well that's what these shoes were. I bought them ages ago as a teen, and wore them plenty. Unfortunately they sort of got a bit old and worn out, but not quite falling apart.

I thought I would just throw them away since I had no use for them, but then I looked at them and thought...they're not broken, not got holes, I can still wear them, they just need a good injection of "life" into them, so here is what I did:

- Took the shoes out of the "trash" pile first of all
- Drew out some designs for the famous 5-stripes which I was going to draw on the sides (see the top right photo), as well as getting some materials together (masking tape, permanent markers, newspaper, scissors, correction fluid for the polka dots etc.)
- On the left shoe, the tongue had actually fallen out, so I used some super glue and reattached it
- As you can see in the top left photo, the laces are old and dirty, and the shoes are dirty too. I cleaned the shoes, and got some nice new laces from Deichmann shoe shop
- I put new insoles on the inside, and repaired some bits on the inside with some fabric
- I then attached the masking tape and then proceeded to draw on the designs as you can see in the bottom photos, using plain old Poundland permanent markers. I let them dry and then took off the tape and...

Voila...New shoes...

I did this just over a lazy weekend afternoon. I was very much impressed with the results to be fair, and yes, I do actually wear them regularly. I wish I had taken some more photos of the process, but what can you do?

Edit: I edited the photo on my phone, multi-grid feature, and I adjusted something or other, I can't remember what to be fair, might have just thrown a filter on there...
