He was the fourth character in Fredbear's Family Diner, and unlike the other 3, he is not a Springlock costume. It was possessed by a child named Alan, and has since left the Pirate's Den at night to hunt down the night guards, thinking it was their killer. In 1980, he was responsible for the death of Barbara Afton, mother of Mike, Evan and Elizabeth, wife of William.

During the show, Evan is near the Pirate's Cove holding a Fredbear plush, and his mother appears to talk to him. With that, Springfox's performance starts to glitch and he looks at Barbara intensely, until the moment he attacks her with a bite. He was scrapped after this incident and taken out of commission. In 1983, he was replaced by the Red Fox, Foxy, Fazbear relied on Springfox to design the Pirate Red Fox. Springfox was also called Foxy back in Fredbear's, being the same characters.
