This is fantastic. A) the crispness of your renders never ceases to amaze me, my C4d doesnt work like your does! B) I had to stare at it for 10 minutes just to take in all the detail!

Thanks a lot. The crispness is just an optical illusion due to the blurred background, your C4D can do it too

Still on version 10. Mine is a bit buggy when using interposer, which is actually why Ive opted to do most of my rendering in Vue. Its probably about time for me to dust mine off and have another go at it.

I am still on 9.5, v10 did not had the killer-must-have-features for me, which is now the case with v11 (faster rendering, better GI, PS-Brushes in BP4, full Leopard support)

Bummer on the price. Question, do you do your DOF in C4d? Vue's DOF is terrible, so I end up creating Z-depth layers and blurring in manually in photoshop. I seem to recall C4d's DOF being pretty good.

The DOF in C4D is looking nice BUT:
- costs to much memory
- and the killer: it does not calculate correct through alpha-maps (especially hair and transmapped plants)
So it is basically unuseable!
But:
- I let C4D calculate the depth-layer
- I use also lot of object layers for easier correction
- I correct the depth-layer in photoshop to correctly use alpha-maps
- I use lens-blur in photoshop
Advantage:
- I have an unblurred base-pic
- I can adjust the lens-effect afterwards to have the correct look and feel
Disadvantage:
- you have to edit the depth-map manually
