Description
I'd been toying around for a while with ideas about those last few arcs being spent in a resistance conflict against a Proud Boys-like far right paramilitary group who were miraculously (with foreign military aid) able to take territory and start committing crimes against Humanity. I had a vague vision in my mind for a Sicilian Baroque supercomplex in Huxley 2-III-A with the same layout as an Aztec pyramid, and this is what came of it.Genocide already is a kind of human sacrifice, it being the ultimate means and end of any colonial project, which I wanted to be very on-the-nose for.
To get in the frame of mind of the kinds of fascists who would treat this as a "monument to Western Civilization", I subjected myself to Ride the Lightning by Metallica for the first time in years (I fell off with that band after reading a long investigative journalism report of someone who'd infiltrated the Proud Boys for years, and they reported the movement's heads to all have a bizarre obsession the most vanilla kinds of metal imaginable). I listened to Mozart's Requiem while drawing as well. Why did 18th century composers go so far out of their way to make Classical Music worse (12EDO, formulaic compositional style, coprophagia, etc.)?
