Description
I enjoyed the series Haibane Renmei so much, I decided to make a plushie of the main character : Rakka ! She is a Haibane, an angel-like being with pale charcoal wings. The Haibane come in to their world apparently from another life and catch from a cocoon with only remembering a dream that they had right before they hatch. When they hatch, they can have the appearance of almost any age. Their wings come in soon afterwards during a fever. They are only allowed to have used belongings such as clothes and even where they live is run-down. They work in town to earn these things, but are not allowed to accept money.

Rakka's halo causes her hair to occasionally stick up in places, so I thought it was the best way to hold her halo in place. She is made from ivory, white, pale grey, pale pink, camel, cocoa, burgundy and sunflower felt. She is stuffed with polyester fiberfill and held together with fabric glue. Her iron-on facial design was created by my friend and fellow dA artist Caroline-draws-stuff.

Rakka and Haibane Renmei were created by Yoshitoshi ABe of Serial Experiments : lain fame. We didn't create this character, just this plushie.
