Description
I was trying to create an emotive piece that would provoke one to look at the world and its future. I want to be open to the onlooker to interpret this piece however one may. I'm not making a political statement, but hope that one can reflect one's own views. Soft pastel on Colourfix paper. I will give credit to the photographer in my journal.Related content

I found this to be very moving; my first impression was that it was a beautiful archetype of the old and the new, age and youth, and yes the future.

aside from being wowed by the little details such as the mesh of colors in the older man's turban, i really think you've captured something amazing in both faces. at first i found the colors in the boy's face too harsh, but now i feel like they add to a sense of age, as if he is much older in spirit than in body. i think that the most beautiful thing about this piece, however, is the old man's face. it is rendered so realistically and retains a lot of different tones. i also feel like there's a lot of emotion behind his stare.
