Description
Inside the traveling shuttle. A Dalmatian inside the cockpit was looking into a lot of files about the mission he was given. After all this is really far from their solar system. About almost a 2 in a half years worth of travel in cryogenic sleep. And a lot of important yet classified details about the mission. All he can remember so far was the small details about the mission.==========
“What we’re about to tell you is highly classified information not shared to the public in over 20 years. And that’s because of what happened on that day that neither the American people, nor the world is ready to know about. And it had been involved with extraterrestrial life beyond our understanding that led to the abduction and disappearance of one of our former astronauts. A fox by the name of “Alejandro Ortega”, who we announced dead due to an unforeseen collision with meteorites. Of course that was not the truth. An unidentified alien craft saw the shuttle he piloted with others by the names of two others named “Amanda Wilson”, and “Owen Paterson”. Those two found dead inside the same shuttle station with them on earth’s orbit. Bodies retrieved and buried too, but Alejandro’s was the only one taken. However, about over 6 years ago since the recent disappearance of said astronaut. One of our satellites in our solar system managed to pic up and send us a message containing same ones voice. Sent out a distress call asking for help on an alien world that he crashed landed on. We’ve sent a special drone to investigate said signals point of origin to a unknown planet outside of our solar system. It took exactly almost 3 years to make such a travel. Took us 3 attempts to have at least one successful satellite to make it successfully and send us some imagery of said planet. It’s almost like earth in appearance, but no major cities in sight. We believe that the missing astronaut is either dead or alive still on said planet, but we cannot be too sure about it. Though we can investigate this planet and actually have you to be the first earthling other than the 3 astronauts or anyone else involved with Roswell back in the 1950’s, to make extraterrestrial encounter, but on another world instead of ours. You have 3 main objectives. 2 if he’s still alive. Objective 1, investigate the planets surface of any indigenous life and species. Objective 2, is to document any and all founding during your trip as you study the planet. Mainly on locations, structures, and any possible signs of civilization. Remember this is the planet Alejandro’s signal was picked up, so he must have survived somehow. Objective 3 if possible, is to save and rescue Alejandro, if he’s still alive that is. Of course there’s no guarantee that he won’t be exposed to any contamination or you on the planet. So if you must stay self quarantined even before leaving the planet. You may not return home if you are considered contagious by the ships AI. It’ll even do any and all to insure that you don’t bring in any virus or disease that could cause another global outbreak across the planet again. You’ll have a total of 5 years. That should be plenty of time to explore and investigate the continent where the message was pin pointed at. So make whatever you can document worth it and do whatever it takes to survive. We’ve specifically selected you on this solo mission with one of our latest AI programs to avoid any suspicious activity from other crew mates or even yourself. So keep that in mind that they are monitoring you too. Can’t trust anyone or everyone we send to another planet and bring back contraband of any kind. You will be placed in a cryogenic sleep for said time until you arrive on the planet. So the oxygen in the ship will last you for about 1 round trip. Best of luck on studying the planet “Lucky”.
==========
Lucky: Lucky, never seen that name so fitting. Yet here I am as both a field expert and former seal, out of a solo research and research mission. Me a dog from the state of Tennessee, especially someone from a small town near Chattanooga. Guess there wasn’t much options for anyone else from N.A.S.A. or even Space Force.
???: well you we an expert in many survival missions and have a high degree in field studies from the University of Tennessee.
Lucky: oh that’s right. I almost forgot your on this mission with me. Don’t you have a name or something?
???: I really don’t have on. Since I am mostly linked towards N.A.S.A’s computer systems. Though I have been given different names for therapy reasons involved in solo missions. So please call me whatever you like during the mission.
Lucky: shame. And I thought you AI program’s preferred to have a name of some sort. We’ll guess I’ll just call you Eva, mainly from an anime my cousin showed me back in our hometown.
Eva: okay I’ll be called that until the end of the mission. Lucky, funny how your have a name like lucky for a Dalmatian.
Lucky: I was given it when I almost died at birth. The doctors said I was lucky to have a heartbeat still. It was then when my parents started calling me that. Lucky, it sure feels like I am with all the dum luck I have had.
Eva: well they do say the universe works in mysterious ways.
Lucky: to be honest I really didn’t liked it that I was named after a cartoon dog like me, but really stood with me for a lot of reasons.
Eva: hopefully we’ll see just how lucky you really are on this mission.
Lucky: is there anything you can tell me about this Ortega fox I’ve been assigned to search and rescue about?
Eva: Alejandro Ortega, he’s a crimson fox from Ontario California. Obviously has much Hispanic heritage being from the family with a small history of being citizens when the Mexican American war occurred back in the 1800’s.
Lucky: so he’s technically a Hispanic citizen.
Eva: he was also of of the best engineers too in the university of California. Originally assigned to the Kennedy space center at Cape Canaveral Florida. Any known activity was involved with satellite and shuttle repairs and maintenance physically. Other than that they have no known records involved with planetary exploration or field work like with others involved with the Mars mission. Though they are involved with the construction of one of the experimental satellites used by the US Space Force and other military branches.
Lucky: so he’s also an expert builder too involved with those too. Anything else you can tell me about him that might be helpful?
Eva: he is a crimson furred fox. With a rare white hair streak almost like a mullet. Eye colors are a light shade of blue. Almost periwinkle a bit. Hight is about 5 ft 6 inches. Weight last record about 178. They did like to stay in fit.
Lucky: so technically a natural athlete similar to a high school or college jock. Hopefully won’t see much of that around. And what about the alien beings involved with the kidnapping? Any video recordings or something to know what it is I’m probably going up against?
Eva: I’m afraid those files are highly classified and completely off limits to any and all astronauts. Sorry, but I cannot pull up any records or anything about the hostile’s.
Lucky: well that’s just great. How am I supposed to be prepared for whatever it is I’m up against?
Eva: we have a special fire arm similar to what you used in your past assignments in Iraq. It’s not like the ones used by the public or military, but it is highly advanced and should supply you at least 5 years worth of ammunition within the ship’s storage area. Along with limited supplies of food and other supplies for your own personal needs.
Lucky: of course they would. Sure wish they had a toilet for these ships with all the money they have been saving and spending on tax payers like us.
Eva: aren’t you wearing one right now?
Lucky: only because we don’t have a single toilet or shower on here!
Eva: hehe… I can tell someone wasn’t happy about this part of being trained as an astronaut.
Lucky: ugh… can’t be helped I guess. Just glad this thing is private with us.
Eva: don’t worry. It’s stays with me until I am shutdown for any reason.
Lucky: moving on a bit. What can you tell me about this planet so far?
Eva: nothing on any indigenous life or fauna yet. This is my first time on this planet just like you Lucky.
Lucky: of course it is. Then again part of the mission is to find and rescue one missing astronaut and to research the planet too.
Eva: if he was lucky enough to send a message this far out. Then maybe he might have been lucky enough to breathe on the planets atmosphere. Until further notice the planet we’re arriving with be labeled as Tyranus.
Lucky: take it earth 3 was off the list.
Eva: I’m sure it has a name, but we’ll learn soon. As we are now approaching Tyranus. We’ll be entering its orbit and soon landing in half an hour. I suggest getting prepared and changed too. And enjoy what meal they have prepared for you. After all 5 years of MRL’s and such from N.A.S.A. isn’t cheap.
Lucky: might as well suit up. And hope we don’t some leads on Alejandro. I mean it’s been over 20 years now. Who’s to say he’s still alive?
==========
Lucky is own by me.
